Rafting the Nile

July 15, 2009

This trip just gets better every day… now we’re scheduled to head out to the African continent a week earlier – I’m guessing around he 7th, but the plane tickets are yet to be booked – to spend some time across the Ugandan border. There we’ll be hitting the currents of the Nile while we [...]

surprizes below, above, Everywhere!

July 9, 2009

Trekking into the wilderness anywhere will at one time or another make you stop short and think to yourself: did the ground just move…?! And I’m just going to assume that I’ll eventually do exactly that at least once in the two weeks I’ll be in the African wilderness.

Hep B ~ not necessary but… it’s for me

July 2, 2009

New plans!

July 1, 2009

The plans [...]

June 30, 2009

NOPE! Turns out that Canadians 16 and under DON’T need to worry about entry visas. All we’ve got to worry about is keeping our vaccinations to-date, have an itinerary of our trip ready upon arrival at Nairobi, and get a visitor’s pass at the airport.

June 26, 2009

This is what all this work I’ve been putting in to this stuff is for! I’ve got
kashu_parit,
a Maasai living in the Loita region of the Maasailand in remote southern Kenya as a follower on twitter, and we’ve been exchanging tweets for a few days now, and I’ve got his consent to include him in my [...]

any notable concerns? of Course

June 22, 2009

Disregarding the fact that the area is dangerous in almost all aspects as the area often experiences droughts in the summer, most of the work will require the two of us to camp out in the middle of the Kenyan wilderness and though Kenya is thought to be one of the more stable African nations, [...]
